DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
Veggies to Table is a nonprofit grow-to-donate farm in Newcastle, Maine. We grow and donate 100% of our top-quality organic produce and flowers to local people experiencing hunger and needing joy, while creating lasting community connections through our volunteer and education programs.
We are seeking a highly organized, data-savvy Development Coordinator who loves both people and systems—and, quite frankly, someone who loves to geek out on a good spreadsheet. Someone who is always looking for smarter ways to make fundraising work.
Working closely with the Executive Director and Development & Communications Manager, this person will help strengthen the systems behind our fundraising: managing our donor CRM (Bloomerang), tracking grants and town funding, supporting donor stewardship and fundraising events, and helping us use data, automation, AI, and technology more effectively.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys making things function better and wants their work to directly support a mission-driven organization.
What You'll Do
CRM, Donor Data & Stewardship
Manage our donor CRM (Bloomerang) day-to-day, maintaining accurate donor and prospect records, relationships, preferences, and engagement history.
Enter and process gifts, pledges, sponsorships, and notes.
Create useful donor segments, reports, and lists.
Help develop and maintain donor journeys, workflows, and automated communications for welcoming, stewardship, re-engagement, event follow-up, and other communications.
Identify opportunities to improve how we use our CRM and donor data to strengthen relationships and fundraising.
Learn and use the CRM's integrated AI tools to save time for the work we do best in person with our donors.
Systems, AI & Automation
We are particularly interested in someone who enjoys looking at how things work and asking, “Could we do this better?”
We want to thoughtfully use technology, automation, and AI not to replace the human side of our work, but to create more time for it. By making repetitive and administrative work more efficient, our team can spend more time doing the things only people can do: building genuine relationships, connecting with our community, thinking creatively, making thoughtful decisions, and advancing our mission.
Identify repetitive work that can be simplified or automated.
Improve development workflows and create clear SOPs.
Explore and implement useful CRM features, integrations, automation, and AI tools.
Maintain and improve the spreadsheets and systems we use to track fundraising, donors, grants, sponsorships, and events.
Help organize and maintain our Google Drive.
Explore and implement appropriate AI, automation, and technology tools that reduce repetitive administrative work and make our development efforts more efficient—giving our team more time for the relationship-building and creative work that only people can do.
Grants & Town Funding
Maintain calendars and tracking systems for grants and town funding, including deadlines, applications, awards, reporting requirements, and payments.
Assist with grant applications, supporting materials, and reports.
Gather program data, financial information, and other materials needed for proposals and reporting.
Keep grant materials, statistics, and funder information organized and current.
Help identify appropriate grant and funding opportunities.
Fundraising & Events
Support fundraising campaigns, donor communications, annual appeals sponsorships, and stewardship activities.
Provide behind-the-scenes logistical and administrative support for events,
Help manage event and auction technology, including OneCause and ensure event information flows accurately into the CRM.
Track sponsors, auction donors, event participants, pledges, and follow-up.
Help ensure donors and supporters receive thoughtful and timely follow-up.
Who We're Looking For, You:
Have at least three years of experience working in a nonprofit, preferably in development, fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit operations.
Are highly organized and genuinely enjoy working with data, databases, spreadsheets, and systems.
Have experience with a donor CRM; Bloomerang experience is a plus.
Are comfortable learning new technology and interested in using automation and AI thoughtfully to improve how work gets done.
Are detail-oriented and care deeply about accuracy while also being able to multi-task.
Can manage multiple deadlines and projects without losing sight of the details.
Communicate clearly and warmly both in writing and with colleagues.
Understand that behind every donor record is a real person and relationship.
Are proactive, curious, resourceful, and comfortable figuring things out.
Enjoy working independently while also being part of a small, collaborative, mission-driven team.
Care about food access, community, sustainability, and the mission of Veggies to Table.
Location
This is a full-time position that may be hybrid or fully remote. Ideally, the person will live within approximately an hour of Veggies to Table and be able to come to the farm periodically, but all qualified applicants will be considered regardless of location.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Benefits include:
Three weeks paid vacation
Nine paid PTO days
Paid holidays
Health care stipend
Fresh organic produce, flowers, and other farm goodies when available
A flexible, mission-driven work environment
